SSHS10

Good time at Atlanta Dragway, 10th annual gathering known as the Southern Super Heavy(weight) Shootout.  Cars over 4000 pounds (with driver), mostly Impalas, Marauders, and Crown Vics, but a few full size imports, SUVs, and trucks joined in as well.  There were even a few newer Caddy, G8, and Challengers.

Oct 2010 Zoo Atlanta

It's been a while since our last visit to the zoo, and the news has us anxiously awaiting the possibility of another baby panda.  Since our last visit, there's also been a new addition, a baby giraffe.  This weekend was also Boo at the Zoo, a Halloween festival for kids, but it was fun to see all the kids in costume, and a lot of fun decorations.

Blue Angels 2010

The Blue Angels were back in Atlanta for 2010, and brought the Canadian Snowbirds team with them.  Great show, weather couldn't have been better, sunny, nearly cloudless, and temperatures topping out in the high 70's.  The static display was more extensive than years past, some really rare WWII warbirds on display.  Funny how you don't get a true sense of scale from photos.  This was the first time I had ever experienced the Snowbirds, nine planes in some tight and unique formations.  They use slower planes, so it's less about high speed passes, and more about tight, precision flying.

Blue Angels

The Angels put on a great show, as always, it was Sheila's first time seeing them.  She's now seen both the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels.  Hard to say which she enjoyed more.
